Martin was born in Coventry, UK on 4th March 1988. In 2000, when he was living in Petersfield, Hampshire his best friend told him to come along to some acting workshops he was going to. Martin was hesitant as he was a very shy boy. He went along anyway. Straight away he got the bug for performing and joined their theatre. He started off in the background (chorus) of the shows and progresed through the ranks; joining 2 more amateur groups at the same time. His first role came in 2008 when he played dual role Glitta & Papa Razzi - twin italian brothers.

Unfortunately, his parents moved to Newcastle and he had to say goodbye to the theatre there. He moved to Newcastle Upon-Tyne in June of 2008. Straight away Martin searched for the nearest theatres in the region and found 2 (both of which he joined) - They were The Live Theatre and The People's Theatre

Whilst at The Live Theatre, Tracy Gillman who was running the workshops made an announcement of a TV Commercial that was due to be shot in Newcastle and asked for any unpaid volunteers. Seizing the moment, Martin applied. The commercial was Red Driving School in 2009. Networking with the other extras / actors on the shoot he managed to get himself an agent, Janet Plater - as an extra. His first extra job was on "United" in 2011. He did 2 short films in 2009 too which were never completed. On set of one of those films he met Angela Jobson who was a freelance multimedia producer who seen potential in Martin. Five years later, in 2014 they started their own filmmaking group called Jack's Mates Films
